Singapore Airlines launches Hangzhou flights in June 2026

Singapore Airlines (SIA) is set to commence daily flights between Singapore and Hangzhou, China, starting 1 June 2026, pending regulatory approvals. This new route will be operated using the Airbus A350-900 aircraft, configured with 303 seats, including 40 in Business Class and 263 in Economy Class.

The inaugural flight, SQ838, will depart Singapore at 1740hrs local time on 1 June and arrive in Hangzhou at 2250hrs the same day. The return flight, SQ839, will leave Hangzhou at 0010hrs on 2 June, reaching Singapore by 0510hrs. These flights will complement existing services by Scoot, SIA’s low-cost subsidiary, enhancing connectivity to the Yangtze River Delta region.

This expansion marks Hangzhou as SIA’s ninth destination in mainland China, with the airline group now serving a total of 22 destinations across the country. Dai Haoyu, Senior Vice President of Marketing Planning at Singapore Airlines, stated, “The launch of services to Hangzhou caters to demand from both leisure and business travellers to China. This new daily service deepens our presence in a key market for the SIA Group, and offers customers greater flexibility, connectivity, and choice when travelling between Singapore and China, and the wider region.”

Hangzhou, a prominent tourist and business hub, is renowned for its UNESCO-listed West Lake, Longjing tea plantations, and historic sites. It also serves as a centre for technology and e-commerce, providing a gateway to Zhejiang province. Tickets for the new service will be available through SIA’s distribution channels from 23 March 2026
