Great Rail Journeys has announced exclusive charter access to the Amadeus Star and Amadeus Imperial ships for 2024. These vessels are some of the newest and most luxurious additions to the Amadeus fleet and reflect the elegance and sophistication travellers have come to expect of the river cruise provider.
Great Rail Journeys will have use of the two ships in 2024, adding to their already extensive offering of rail and river tours, which combine the relaxation of river cruising with the effortless exploration of rail travel. The two impressive vessels will sail the River Danube and River Rhine and feature on a selection of both river-only and rail-and-river tours – some of which are brand-new offerings for 2024. The ships are spacious and sophisticated and offer first-class accommodations in state-of-the-art interiors.
From the moment they step on board, guests can expect to be indulged with a wide selection of delectable dining options, friendly on-board staff available 24/7, and exclusive entertainment. From the welcome drinks reception offered at boarding to the Captain’s gala dinner held on the final night, every Great Rail Journeys chartered river cruise is jam-packed with delights.
Here’s a glimpse inside the two exclusive new vessels:

Each bedroom comes with a spacious ensuite bathroom, individual climate control, a flatscreen television, a spacious wardrobe, and either a double or twin bed. The majority of rooms even offer panoramic windows or a balcony.
Throughout the rest of the ship, passengers are truly spoilt by the decadent onboard facilities. This includes an elegantly furnished restaurant, complete with floor-to-ceiling views, an expansive sun deck and a massage room with a range of reinvigorating treatments.
In the Amadeus Club, passengers have the option to while away lazy afternoons with the fully stocked library, games room and bar. For those feeling active, a well-equipped gym, and bicycle hire service are available. Every evening, guests are entertained and serenaded by a carefully selected range of local artists and on-board performers.
MS Amadeus Imperial
The MS Amadeus Imperial offers a similarly serene river cruising experience. Built in 2020, the Imperial boasts a sophisticated contemporary design, with stylish interiors and top-of-the-range facilities. This spacious vessel strikes the perfect balance between entertainment and tranquillity.

The ship’s restaurant is tastefully furnished and spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows for impressive views to complete the dining experience.
There is no shortage of social spaces on board the Amadeus Imperial. Travellers can lounge on the sun deck where they can chat and play games with fellow passengers at the Lido bar.
